The Way
The Way is a basic set of catechetical teaching on the Orthodox way of life: what the Church believes and how that faith is lived through prayer, worship, and parish life. Read at your own pace. Bring questions to your priest and parish.
The daily stone
Choose Continue your path to open your saved teaching. Feasts, the Church year, Holy Week, and gentle review may offer a different teaching for the moment without moving your saved course place.
Marking a stone complete
Read the teaching, then choose Next Stone. The first time, Before You Go offers its question: Reflect opens a private note, Continue moves on. Next Stone marks the teaching read and advances the course. Undo remains available for seven seconds.
Your place on the circle
The circle stays at the heart of The Way. Four sections contain modules, and each module contains individual teachings called stones. Your read history and private notes are kept separately from your starting point.
Revisit an earlier module
Open All modules from The Way or near the top of a teaching. Search by module or teaching title. Each module offers Review module and Start from here before you expand it.
Review module opens that module's first teaching. Previous and Next stay within the module. Reviewing leaves your saved starting point unchanged. Use Return to your saved place to continue where you were.
Choose a different starting point
Choose Start from here on a module to begin at its first teaching, or near the top of a teaching to begin there. The confirmation names the teaching and explains what changes. Choose Start here to move your saved place, or Keep current place to cancel.
This action does not mark any teaching read or erase read history, private notes, or gentle review history. Undo is available briefly afterward. If newer work has changed your course, Undo keeps that newer work intact.
Some teachings require earlier reading. The confirmation names each required teaching and opens it directly. Reading a required teaching keeps your saved starting point in place. Return to the module and choose Start from here once the requirements are met.
The visual guide
Open How it works from The Way, All modules, or a teaching. Show me how walks through the circle, modules, reading, reflection, Next Stone, returning to your place, and changing the starting point.
The guide uses a clearly labeled example. Its buttons and example note do not change your real place, read history, or private notes. Leave at any time. You can resume an unfinished guide, replay it, or read the complete explanation from the same screen.
Returning after time away
Your saved place remains available. There is no streak to repair or backlog to clear. Feasts, the Church year, Holy Week, and gentle review may offer a different teaching for the moment. Those visits leave your saved course place intact.
